Marvin has been dabbling in oil paint for almost sixty years. He was a cartoonist for The Daily Aztec newspaper at San Diego State College in the early ‘60s, and for several years had a cartoon strip published in a weekly San Diego County newspaper. He does traditional landscapes, still- lifes, and the occasional pet portrait; with his cartoonist state of mind, many of the paintings include a humorous twist involving puns and word play.

Marvin lleva casi sesenta años incursionando en la pintura al óleo. Fue caricaturista del periódico The Daily Aztec en el San Diego State College a principios de los 60s, y durante varios años publicó una tira cómica en un periódico semanal del condado de San Diego. Realiza paisajes tradicionales, naturalezas fijas y algún que otro retrato de mascotas; debido a su condición de caricaturista, muchos de sus cuadros tienen un toque humorístico con juegos de palabras.
