Sofia Talvik - Americana / Folk with Swedish Roots

Sofia Talvik is a rare artist and an avid storyteller with a voice comparable to giants like Joni Mitchell, Judy Collins, Buffy Sainte-Marie and others. Her delicate songs are performed in an intimate way, showing off Sofia’s angelic voice enhanced only by a tasteful mix of harmonies and accompanied by the steady picking of her acoustic guitar and the rhythm section consisting of her own two feet, bells and a stomp box.

The music is innovative, intelligent, and irresistibly appealing to both kids and their parents. Perfect for kids 0-5 and their grownups!

This fun and interactive learning environment is suited for children infant - 6 years old but older children are always welcome. Come for the stories, rhymes and crafts!  A place to play, learn and grow!

6th - 12th graders are invited to the St. Helena Public Library the third Wednesday of the month for crafts, games, movies, and time to socialize and relax. Hope to see you there!

A Lens for the Future: The Artwork of Jacob Zuniga, a talented 18-year old artist born in El Salvador has already developed a remarkable body of work that celebrates both nature and spirituality. Drawing on their rich cultural background and love of the outdoors, Jacob utilizes different mediums to evoke the beauty of the natural world and capture the spirit and essence of a place. The art explores themes of history, color, and emotions. They mostly create landscapes, but also use linoleum prints to explore spirituality and depict saints.

Did you know that planting, saving, and sharing seeds grown in your region increases greater genetic diversity, fosters adaptation to your local climate, and contributes to our seed library inventory? 

Learn how to use the seed library and how to save seeds from one bean variety— the Kosovo bean! Debbie Stevens has stewarded this seed variety in Napa for over 10 years, and we’re going to share their story, as well as growing requirements to extend its range in St. Helena, where it can grow equally well.

Lauren Muscatine from the Napa County Seed Library is excited to share knowledge and skills about gardening. Join us at the St. Helena Public Library for this practical workshop.
