About this event
This art exhibit showcases the intricate relationship between marine and plant life, employing ink drawings and colored pencils as the primary media for the illustrations. The central theme addresses the alarming decline of species due to global warming and habitat loss, particularly the rapid deterioration of coral reefs and the dwindling populations of marine creatures. This loss not only diminishes the beauty of our natural world but also undermines the essential benefits that marine life provides. Nature has been my greatest teacher, and I continue to learn through extensive reading, observation, and artistic expression. Having spent most of my life in Napa, I attended local public schools that fostered a culture of collaboration, creativity, and environmental exploration among students. It is my aspiration that my drawings will inspire viewers to appreciate and protect our natural world. I am a retired art teacher from the Napa Valley Unified School District.
