The Caldecott Medal is awarded annually by the American Library Association to the artist of the most distinguished American picture book for children.
The California Young Readers Medal is awarded each year to books nominated, read and voted for by students throughout California.
The Newbery Medal is awarded each year by the American Library Association to the author of the most distinguished contribution to American literature for children.
The Scott O'Dell Award is presented for a work of historical fiction published by a U.S. publisher and set in the New World.
