Safety on the Internet Kids rules for Online Safety adapted from Child Safety on the Information Highway http://www.safekids.com/kidsrules.htm Kids' Rules for Online Safety1. I will not give out personal information such as my address, telephone number, parents’ work address/telephone number, or the name and location of my school without my parents’ permission. 2. I will tell my parents right away if I come across any information that makes me feel uncomfortable. 3. I will never agree to get together with someone I "meet" online without first checking with my parents. If my parents agree to the meeting, I will be sure that it is in a public place and bring my mother or father along. 4. I will never send a person my picture or anything else without first checking with my parents. 5. I will not respond to any messages that are mean or in any way make me feel uncomfortable. It is not my fault if I get a message like that. If I do I will tell my parents right away so that they can contact the service provider. 6. I will talk with my parents so that we can set up rules for going online. We will decide upon the time of day that I can be online, the length of time I can be online, and appropriate areas for me to visit. I will not access other areas or break these rules without their permission 7. I will not give out my Internet password to anyone (even my best friends) other than my parents 8. I will be a good online citizen and not do anything that hurts other people or is against the law. Yo no proporcionare información personal como mi dirección, número de teléfono, dirección de trabajo/teléfono de mis padres o el nombre y localidad de mi escuela sin haber antes recibido permiso de mis padres. 2. Yo comunicare inmediatamente a mis padres si recibo información que me hace sentir incomodo/a. 3. Nunca me pondré de acuerdo en reunirme con alguien que “conozca” a través del Internet sin antes consultarlo con mis padres. Si mis padres están de acuerdo, yo me asegurare de que la reunión se lleve acabo en un lugar público y llevare conmigo a mi mamá y a mi papá. 4. Nunca enviare fotografías mías ni de ningún tipo sin antes verificar y obtener permiso de mis padres. 5. Yo no responderé a ningún mensaje que sea ofensivo o que me haga sentir disgusto. Yo comprendo que el recibir un mensaje de este tipo no es mi culpa. Si llego a recibir un mensaje de este tipo yo les informaré inmediatamente a mis padres para que ellos se pongan en contacto con la compañía de servicios de Internet. 6. Yo hablare con mis padres y juntos estableceremos reglas para visitar el Internet. Elegiremos la mejor hora del día para que yo pueda entrar al Internet, la cantidad de tiempo que puedo permanecer en Internet, y sitios apropiados para mí. Yo no visitare otros sitios y respetare las reglas establecidas. 7. No revelaré (ni a mi mejor amigo/a) mi clave de acceso, solamente compartiré esto con mis padres. 8. Yo ser un buen usuario del Internet y no haré nada que pueda perjudicar a los demás o que valla en contra de las leyes.
