Introducing the St.
Helena Library Foundation
The Saint Helena Public Library Foundation is
the newest of three groups representing our community for the support of library
programs.
Each group has a board and separate,
responsibilities and goals,
but
all seek to support and enhance the operation and services of the Saint Helena
Public Library.

Goals and
Responsibilities

Trustees are
appointed to the Library Board by City Council. They serve in an advisory
capacity as liaison between library staff and City Council.

Establish and
enforce rules, regulations and bylaws necessary for the administration and
protection of the public library.
Robert Darter,
chairman; Lynda Burton, Julie Dickson, Wine Library liaison; Susan Swan, Bonnie
Long and Jennifer Baker, Library
Director. Each serves a 3 year term. The Board meets at 5 p.m. the 2nd Wednesday
of each month in the Library Conference room. Meetings are noticed and open to
the public.
The purpose of this organization shall be to foster closer relations between the George and Elsie Wood Public Library and its borrowers; to promote knowledge of, and an interest in the functions, resources, services, and needs of the library; to receive and encourage gifts, endowments, and bequests to the library; to support and cooperate with the library in developing library services and facilities for the community.
